Trimaran "Gautier II" during the 1981 Twostar transatlantic race, heaving-to in heavy seas in the north Atlantic ^^^with no rudder... Jean Yves Terlain and Christian Fevrier were in 3rd position of the 103 starters. The experimental mainsail broke in a squall, four days after the start. They swapped their mainsail with the genoa, but two days later, the rudder shaft broke. Gautier waited a week in bad weather for a Canadian container-ship leaving Le Havre with a new rudder and a spare mainsail. They finally arrived in Newport 27 days after the start.

64.6m three masted gaff-rig schooner "Adix" during a race around the Isle of Wight in 1997. ^^^Originally Jessica, built in 1983-84 for Carlos Perdomo, she was totally modified and lengthened at the Pendennis Shipyard, Cornwall, UK, in 1990-91 by her new owner Jaime Bottin. Her rig was designed to match the "Atlantic" schooner from 1905.
