Our photographers have provided an intriguing mix of new images this month. We have David Pattyn's intimate studies of great crested grebes, Jiri Lochman's rare images of Australia's lesser known marsupials, some great macro work from Alex Hyde and Stephen Dalton, and varied material from the Americas, spanning the plains of Canada, the coastal reserves of Mexico and the endemic species of the Galapagos. Tony Wu, Claudio Contreras, David Fleetham and Shane Gross add some fascinating new behavioural material on fish and marine life around the world. Watch out too from some fresh takes on urban foxes and badgers!

This month there is a distinctly antipodean flavour to our latest highlights. New contributor Etienne Littlefair provides strong coverage on Australian wildlife from spiders to snakes and endemic birds, Doug Gimesy has rare images of the critically endangered regent honeybird, and Tui De Roy has submitted fascinating coverage on New Zealand's iconic kiwis. Also well represented are the tropics through Alex Hyde's Borneo coverage and South American material from Karine Aigner and Maxime Aliaga. Closer to home we have some great British wildlife shots from Oscar Dewhurst and Roger Powell, Andalusian images from Andres Dominguez and marine life from the Canaries and Italy's Amalfi Coast. Roland Seitre has contributed a range of rare rodents, and from North America watch out for prairie dogs, black-footed ferrets and the 17 year periodical cicada, for which species 2021 has been a big year!

This month's highlights include Maxime Aliaga's engaging and comprehensive orangutan collection, bold examples of Nordic wildlife, dramatic and revealing aerial landscape images, and lots of beautiful new wildflowers and fungi. You will also find some strong macro coverage on insectsand slime moulds, and be able to explore the natural haven of Ethiopia's sacred forests.

This month we've been really busy adding great new marine material to our site, from Shane Gross, Jurgen Freund, Alex Mustard and Doug Perrine amongst others. There is also strong coverage on the polar regions, climate change and dramatic weather. And look out for some great photos of various owl species and fascinating new images from Wild Wonders of China, featuring Taiwan endemics, rare species from the Tibetan plateau and honey buzzards feeding on the nests of wild bees.

We have started 2021 with a big influx of environmental and travel images. Notable new additions include people and landscapes from inaccessible regions of China, coverage on fires and flooding, and graphic photography of chemical residues and the threat to sharks from over-fishing. Look out for desert plants and Californian condors from North America, unique wild honeybee coverage, endangered turtles and Konik ponies from one of Europe's most prominent rewilding projects. Not to mention a rich mix of wildlife, plants and scenics from around the world.

A fascinating mixture of new images has been added to our site this month. Flamingos feature prominently, from Mexico, Bolivia and Kenya, including an in-depth study of the Caribbean flamingo by Claudio Contreras. Other highlights include unusual Kirlian images from Pal Hermansen, mountain hares and red foxes at night by Erlend Haarberg and Milan Radisics, and pin-sharp bizarre slime moulds from Andy Sands. You will also find some breathtaking UK landscapes from Guy Edwardes, pygmy squid from Japan and a range of Asian, African and Australian flora and fauna.

This month's highlights ranges widely across the world. From Africa we have Suzi Eszterhas's very engaging leopard family images, Will Burrard-Lucas's rare black panthers and Ben Cranke's dramatic eagle/stork confrontation. From Asia we've added more great content from Wild Wonders of China, including many Taiwanese endemic species. From Europe we have lovely starling murmurations, birds in the snow and mammal portaits. From South America the world's highest waterfall and largest flying bird. From Australia, urban wildlife and a variety of reptiles and frogs. And as ever there has been a fantastic influx of strong marine material, including Andy Murch's unrivalled coverage on many of the world's sharks and rays.

Meanwhile Claudio Contreras has returned from Guadalupe Island in Mexico, where endemic plants are making a comeback, Franco Banfi documents the rich marine life of Italy's Amalfi Coast, and Pete Oxford provides fascinating coverage of people from Madagascar, Bolivia and Papua New Guinea.
