Martins Creek and surrounds after 2019/20 bushfires devastated the area. Rivers in the south-east of Australia endured drought, bushfires and intense rainfall in a brief period. The rains washed ash and mud into the rivers, creating a potential cascade of impacts on fish, invertebrates and platypus. Until the fires, the edge of the creek had wet temperate rainforest along its edge, bounded by wet and damp forest. Martins Creek Scenic Reserve, Nurran, Victoria, Australia. February 2020.
