The iconic exterior of Rome's Palazzo della Civitlà del Lavoro (1938-43). This monumental building, designed by architect Marcello Piacentini, is situated in the EUR area in southern Rome. The area was originally developed by Mussolini's Fascist regime to host a world exhibition (Esposizione Universale di Roma) in 1942. The design intended to link Fascism of the day with the ancient Roman Empire.
