Robert Thompson

Robert Thompson has had a passion for natural history since he was a child. Based in Northern Ireland, he is a freelance nature photographer and author, with a long list of publications to his name. In addition, he is well known as a specialist in macro photography.

An active conservationist, Robert has worked on several major natural history recording projects in Ireland. His work also shows a detailed knowledge of dragonflies, butterflies and moths.

He is a frequent writer and contributor to the photographic and nature press, both in the UK and Ireland and internationally. He has had several solo exhibitions, which include the aerial landscape collection from the acclaimed Natural History of Ulster. Robert is a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society and the Irish Photographic Federation.
